Downtown Cleveland’s emergence as a national model for revitalization takes center stage as it welcomes the International Downtown Association’s (IDA) Spring Summit: IDA Place Matters, from May 7-9, 2025, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

The Downtown Cleveland Improvement District will be reauthorized. In nearly 20 years of existence, property owners have repeatedly come together to support continuing essential enhanced clean, safe, and beautification services to the city’s core. This year is no different. Despite the many economic challenges that downtown property owners face, they have already rallied in support of reauthorizing the district for another term.

Downtown Cleveland, Inc. advocated and supported the recent passage of House Bill 366, the Fight Organized Retail Crime and Empower Law Enforcement (FORCE) Act, signed by Governor DeWine and enacted into law last week.

Downtown Cleveland, Inc. has made significant progress in its Downtown Retail Strategy, successfully implementing nine key recommendations from the comprehensive plan developed with Streetsense, a nationally recognized strategy and design firm. Downtown Cleveland, in partnership with Robotic Assistance Devices (RAD), is proud to unveil a groundbreaking smart security camera system designed to bolster safety and security in Public Square. This innovative technology, the first of its kind in the city, is the latest addition to Downtown Cleveland’s comprehensive approach to creating a vibrant, welcoming and secure city center.

Cleveland City Council has passed legislation transferring the management, marketing and programming for Public Square to Downtown Cleveland, Inc., effective upon Mayor Justin Bibb’s signature.
